RV JW Powell and GeoExplorer available for charter in West Africa late 05 through 06

TDI-Brooks announces the availability of two multi-use, 45m research vessels for charter in West Africa for 2005 – 2006. The RV GeoExplorer and J.W. Powell are outfitted for multi-beam survey, geotechnical and geochemical coring, heat flow, environmental sampling and hazard survey operations.

The JW Powell has recently been outfitted with a Kongsberg EM1002 multi-beam survey system good to 1,000m water depth. After a succesful test cruise in the Gulf of Mexico, the JW Powell is slated to begin conducting multi-beam survey operations in northern Angola October 2005 with an expected completion date of mid November. The GeoExplorer will also be conducting survey operations in northern Angola during this time, with an expected completion date of early November.
