R/V Nautilus Specifications

TDI-Brooks has expanded its fleet by incorporating the R/V NAUTILUS , thereby increasing its vessel capacity. The R/V NAUTILUS is a DP2 vessel that was built in 2000 and measures 75 meters in length.

The RV Nautilus is mobilized with a Reson 7150-F system which is dual frequency 12 and 24kHz, 2° x 2° beams at 12kHz, 1° x 1° beams at 24kHz. You can find the specification sheet for the 7150 here:  SeaBat 7150 product leaflet.

The vessel is equipped with a Geomil Manta-200 CPT, which can be deployed through the R/V NAUTILUS mid-ship moonpool. The system has the capability to penetrate the soil up to 40-50 meters, depending on its composition. You can find the specification sheet for the Manta here: Geomil_Manta-200_leaflet

In addition to these tools, the R/V NAUTILUS is equipped with Neptune 3K & 5K vibracorers, and a specially designed pneumatic vibracorer engineered and fabricated by TDI-Brooks. These tools enable efficient and accurate geotechnical surveys and sampling.

The R/V NAUTILUS uses Starlink Maritime, a satellite internet service from SpaceX, to provide high-speed, unlimited connectivity at sea. With over 2,400 satellites in orbit, the service offers download speeds of 60-150 Mbps and upload speeds of 10-20 Mbps to maritime vessels.

Our field services are supplemented by high quality environmental, geochemical and geotechnical laboratories with a staff of nearly one-hundred individuals including fourteen Ph.D. level oceanographers, geochemists, biologists and geologists.
