AMVER - blueTwo TDI-Brooks International vessels, the RV GEOEXPLORER and RV GYRE, were recently recognized by the U.S. Coast Guard for their participation in the Automated Mutual-Assistance Vessel Rescue (AMVER). The program, sponsored by the United States Coast Guard, is a computer-based voluntary global ship reporting system used worldwide by search and rescue authorities to arrange for assistance to persons in distress at sea. With AMVER rescue, coordinators can identify participating ships in the area of distress and divert the best suited ship to respond.

The AMVER Awards Program was inaugurated in 1971 to recognize those vessels which regularly participate in the AMVER system. AMVER awards and pennants are given to vessels that are dedicated to the program and consistently participate in the system. They are color-coded and given on milestone years, including first, fifth, 10th and beyond.  The TDI-Brooks vessels received blue pennants for completing their first full years.
