In the wake of Hurricane Ida, TDI-Brooks is expressing interest in providing seabed survey services to expedite the recommencement of your GOM operations. TDI-Brooks are involved with the current BSEE mandated pipeline inspection protocols for the 2021 GOM hurricanes.

Now that Hurricane Ida has passed, our vessels can perform activities including but not limited to port, pipeline, and debris surveys.  Our vessels can be equipped with a geophysical survey suite consisting of sonar, magnetometer and if required multibeam bathymetry can be mobilized to inspect pipeline crossings and identify debris which hinders operations.

We understand operators have 180 days to submit reports for pipeline crossings in storm paths. TDI-Brooks will have the R/V Miss Emma McCall returning from the East Coast sometime in mid-October and available to deploy to the affected areas for any post hurricane surveys required.

To assist with any upcoming planning, a preliminary map which outlines the path of Hurricane Ida and assets affected is attached in this email. We also expect the issuance of a BOEM NTL once the actual extents of the hurricane force winds are determined post storm.

FYI – Following the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey upon the Gulf Coast, TDI-Brooks assisted the US Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) by surveying Galveston’s ship channel to enable the Port to open quickly for incoming ships. The U.S. Coast Guard originally closed multiple ports along the Texas Gulf Coast, including those at Houston, Galveston, Texas City, Freeport and Corpus Christi. Galveston’s ship channel is the busiest in the country. TDI-Brooks supplied our 162ft. vessel, the R/V Brooks McCall, which houses a suite of geophysical equipment to provide ocean-bottom hydrographic surveys.
